Use toothpicks to shim the holes if you have to use smaller screws. No glue - just shove one in and break it off flush.

My OBP-3 is in a soft maple bodied H/H. Although I don't have that pickup, I really like the parallel sound on the hubuckers. A little less output, but really clear and a wider spectrum, I feel. Happy that yours will be getting a well-deserved workout! :bassist:

That should sound awesonme, with that Nordstrand Big SplitMan pickup! When you dig into the electronics, let us know what you have for a preamp, and how the switch is wired.

It could be a bad string. That cause has had the same "muffled" effect for me.

The tool you need is a 1/4” truss rod wrench. Look for one with a short socket. On one of my basses, the pickup is very close to the truss opening, so I had to grind the corner off the wrench to a 45* angle so it will fit into the opening. See post 48 in this thread. US Masters club
