I am what they used to call a "well rounded student". I have studied many things and have skills from both the right and left sides of my brain. I can often sit down and read a chart cold, but can't improvise to save my life. For the purpose of this forum, I've been studying bass seriously for over two years and for whatever reason found that I now see myself as a bass player. FWIW, I do have a Music Ed degree, taught HS band and now teach band part-time at a private middle school.
