    New to Jazz bass - LaBella FL (43-104) Short scale or not?

    Hi all, I'm new to this whole bass thing and wanted to order some flatwound strings for my new AV '64 Jazz bass. Can I use LaBella 760FL short scale strings (43-104) on my Jazz bass or should I use the regular 760FLs (43-104)?

    Which raises the questions, how dark will the tinted ones become in 10, 20 or 30 years? It is safe to say that the AV 2012-2017 series with the thinskin nitro is as close as one can get to playing a real vintage Fender instrument and will probably age just like the original ones.

    I was told that this particular series was the most faithful since in the mid-2012 the AV series got a complete re-jig, where they went back to originals, measured everything, made new molds for knobs and the like, and finally got everything truly vintage accurate.
