There's a fault somewhere there, at the preamp. Go to a specialist.

There's a risk of burning the preamp in using a rechargeable battery. Just use alkalines.

Be careful with the rechargeable batteries as they can burn the on-board preamp, too!

I find my 505 having a stable neck. I keep the gap at 0,50 mm, and there it stays if I use the same strings (brand and gauge). I like how it roars with Elixir SS 45-130 on, gentle, smooth. A 605, having an alder body, might sound a little brighter (which is not bad).

Pay attention to the shape of the pickups. For my TRBX505, it's the P2 shape for direct replacement. I don't know if the same for your TRBX605 (though it should).
