I think you should use your fingers, a pick, or a fish if you want, i was just wondering if people thought that at high speeds if fingers style gets too sloppy ( as in sting clicking)

No doubt I wasn't ragging on Steve Harris importance in maiden or his talent just the sound. If u can go to YouTube and look up wasted years bass track and you'll see what I mean.

Does any think metal players should use picks and stay away from fingers? I mean it's impressive what guys like Harris and burton do but it's sounds sloppy as hell. Just curious what people think.

I think p basses are the most bland bass out there, to me it's like the story the emperors new cloths most people say they love p basses because they dont want to be the one who gets torn apart for speaking the truth about these instruments.

Great bass player very underrated, he's the prime example of a player serving the song......plus he's uses overdrive live!!
