    the bass is not American made (unfortunately), thus is it safe to assume that it is passive?

    Hey guys, I was wondering if somebody could please shed some light on a question i have regarding the Fender P-bass. Are they active or passive out of the box? Is there any way of telling if a bass is active or passive? Any insight is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
