I hope so too, one of the sounds I'm looking for is the Steve Harris sound of Iron Maiden. I know he uses a P-element for it with the treble fully open.

While selling my french horn on a second hand website today, I stumbled across a guy that sold his ESP LTD-50 base guitar. (almost) brand new for 140 euro's. I thought, well that's about what I would like to spend on a first bass guitar so I made an appointment to go and see it tomorrow. If all...

Sorry, I missed your question, I don't have a bass yet but I'm thinking about all the things I can order at the same time when I buy the bass. But doubt is starting to play in my head, not about buying a HB but about what HB to buy :help: I have a few contenders : The JB75 because of the...

Is there anyone that owns a MM84A who could compare the neck with other HB models?

That is good to hear. And I suppose that on their more expensive ones (like the JB75) this shielding will also be done already. Just a question : you mention that the B450 has a small neck? Could it be similar to the MM84A? I kinda like that bass too... Damn, are these the first signs of GAS?

How do I do this? Do I ground the output jack? If anybody has a pic of this

In the meantime I saw that you can actually do it with aluminum foil and spray-on adhesive. Since I have both lying around, I'm not going to pay extra for the tape.

Little technical question : why would I add shielding to my bass? I mean, it's only 6 €, so if it's an improvement on the bass, why not?

Has some fun yesterday with the Thomann webshop. Made myself a wishlist of what I would order together with the bass. To my pleasant surprise I actually pay less for a Bass + extra strings + cable + gigbag + valve for my amp and a headphone, than for a Squier Vintage Bass. Talking about value...

No because then you would only buy one amp instead of two now. But seriously, I agree that there will no doubt be a difference in sound between my amp and a real bass amp. But just to start out, I want to try if I can use the amp and if the sound will be ok. If not, I'll sell the amp and buy a...

Also, it's a 80W output. Long time ago in a galaxy far away, when I still tried to play the guitar, I remember my mother getting hysterical when I even played the amp at half volume. And because I want to maintain a good relationship with my neighbours, I'll seldom go over 30% of the volume. But...

I found a video on YT where a player tried to blow up the speaker on a guitar amp. He failed to do so :

I was actually amazed when I heard some samples on YT. That and this thread were the deciding factors for me. Just waiting for some cash to become available and then I am going shopping :-) Something else I wonder : I have an old marshall valvestate guitar amp I would like to use for this bass...

Thanks, there are actually two finishes I like the most on a (bass)guitar : natural wood and sunburst. And let those two be the choice I can make... Think I am going for the sunburst. I like the way the paint/varnish kinda wears in places.

Hi, I am new here and looking in to buying a HB bass. I think I am going for the JB75 but I am still not sure if I am going for the natural or sunburst. How good is the quality of the paintjob on the sunburst?
