I appreciate the story and information. I am a lifelong guitarist and didn't even know I could play bass until my gang at work needed a bass player and I stepped up with my son's MIM Standard P-Bass...and that's when the light went on for me! That's my '97 Aquamarine American Standard Jazz Bass...

Can't find the Markbass Ultras you mentioned. Where do you get yours? Might that be "Ultimate"? I appreciate the information! Thanks!

35-95 is that the gauge you typically use? Thanks for the advice.

Only just got it in and don't really have a solid opinion on it. The strings that came on it are crap, as one would expect, so I just want to get off to a good start with it. Thanks.
