Interesting... I've read about some NS-2A owners having to either rout the pickup cavity or shave the cover to fit new EMG actives also, but others did not have to. I guess I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.

As far as preamps go, it looks like it would make sense to get the Tonepump for $100 rather than the Jr. for $70. For $30, why not? If I put, say, an Aggie preamp in, would I lose the Spector sound? How about one of the EMGs? Would any/all of those work with the current passives and the...

Thanks. The guy today did not try that, but the guy at the store where I bought it did spray all the pots. Yeah, I can't see doing that unless I can replace the electronics myself.

I just ordered a SUB Ray4 from the GC website in Walnut stain, used, for $179.99. $205 shipped to my door. The guy at the story said it looked like it had hardly been played. I was kind of balking at $300, thinking I'd save up for the Ray34CA, but at $180, that's it. It's mine.

Hello everyone. Some of you may remember me posting a while back about a black NS-2A, and then buying it. I paid $500 for it on consignment at the local Music Go Round, with a Mars Music semi-hard :) case. Anyway, the local music shop says the pre is pretty bad off (bass knob very scratchy)...

I just looked at one of these in Guitar Center with a zebra wood top. The thing feels amazing. Super light, perfect feeling neck. Is yours solid mahogany, or is there some other top wood? Great bass! GLWTS

Yes. That's probably why the toggle is where a knob probably originally resided. It will probably have more surgery if I buy it, so I don't think that should really be an issue.
