About my avatar pic. My Father who was a great musician, had played an early 1980s American P bass Capri Orange. To say it caught the eye was an understatement but it was unique! It was the one thing he kept in his years of playing and trading equipment. That was the one that never left the stable. Even when he switched back to guitar full time and sold off his bass gear, he kept that one bass.
In an off handed tribute to him, years ago I bought a Fender Jazz that was Sunset Orange Transparent which has always stayed as my main go to. He had the orange P, so I figured I'd have the Orange J.
Dad passed recently and his old Orange P is now mine. So what the picture reflects is two generations of Bass Players and their orange guitars. The P and the J are truly Father and Son.
Love and miss you, Dad.
