    S-1 is a series/parallel switch that came with some Fenders during the period of 2001-2004 I think, they discontinued it. It's basically a bass boost. Really nice EQ option to have IMO.

    Yeah, I've been reading up that these things have terrible volume sometimes. My intention is to use it in a trio that is double bass and drums, or for recording purposes. I'm thinking that it will basically be a guitar with bass string spacing tuned in 4ths. We'll see..

    Thanks! Google brought me to a builder named, Chris Larkin who seems to make custom acoustics. My ideal build is 25" scale length, 14-15mm string spacing, ebony fretboard, wenge neck, walnut body - looking to see if something like this already exists.
