I just bought a new American Fender Mustang. The strings that came on it are not as clear and crisp as I would like, the E string in particular. Is this inherent to the short scale? Any suggestions on strings that might provide a cleaner sound?

Does anyone have experience with the Fender Rascal Bass? Any idea a fair price for a used one? I play upright, semi-pro, but sometimes I'm in a very small area and need a small bass. Mostly classic rock and country.

I'm late to this but I used both amps in Panama City Beach in 2021 and spring of 2022. No comparison. I used the Fender for very small gigs and the GK when I needed more power. I' playing an upright bass with passive pick up, so I often used a preamp with the Fender. I also have the GK-MB110...

Some guitar players tune a half step down. Is it bad for my strings if I often tune down the half step and then tune back up when playing with normal people? I'm using D'Addario Helicore medium.
