Spotted a Fodera in a pawn shop today.

On Reverb, I have seen variations with some of the standards and older bolt-on models that make me think "no way is that real" just to see a certificate from Fodera a couple pictures later. I just can't believe a pawnshop would pay what they probably did and ask what they are without knowing...

Spotted a Fodera in a pawn shop today.

I am 90% sure its a knockoff. The lower horn isn't cut right. The MG shape usually has 26 frets. The controls layout is all wrong. Very few Foderas ever come with a high gloss finish. No butterfly "F". The roundover is too sharp. No truss cover, and no screw hole. Usually, if the pickups are...

    Some Brian Bromberg

I really thought he was going say Sedona off his 1993 album. That track sounds like a fight scene from Mortal Combat or Teken, has some killer drumming, has a killer drum solo, and the bass solo is crazy for the time, especially on fretless.

Been experimenting with a visual metronome — interested in bassist feedback

What if you made an option to use "LEDs" like a Boss tuner. Then the main beat could be in the center and the subdivisions would oscilate left and right of the center with subdivisions off each side (1 on each side for 1/8th note, 2 on each side for 1/16th note, etc.). Then you could change the...

    String lube: Any homemade recipes?

A lot of guitar techs use Ballistol as a cleaner for corroded hardware on vintage instruments.

    String lube: Any homemade recipes?

DeoxIT (aerosol versions) consists of three main ingredients, mineral oil, naptha, and their own anti corrosion compound. You can actually buy just the corrosion inhibitor concentrate and mix your own large batches. Naptha is an excellent cleaner degreaser, but you need some time to let it dry...

    String lube: Any homemade recipes?

Jaco only needed four strings, yet here you are... Having your strings react differently than you expect, especially intermittently due to changing weather conditions, can throw off timing and plucking rhythm. It's not just about speed.

    Perfect Nut

Generally its .010-.015 (Fender thin pick) under the first fret while fretting the third. This height is so a plucked open string wont buzz against the first couple of frets. This is, however, neck relief, string guage, string height, plucking strength, and personal preference. Usually a...

    15” plus 2 - 6.5@ mid-driver wiring … how?

Yes, that mid was shrill if not balanced with the woofer. I actually padded mine 2db'ish lower than designed because it is quite "present". But, once balanced to your liking, as a stage cab, every frequency was present from 3ft to 20ft away (which was also a design goal).

    15” plus 2 - 6.5@ mid-driver wiring … how?

Playing bass through it, in its small chamber crossed over at 800hz, I had hours on it with no issues using anywhere from 400-1000 watts. But, as I think the point of the replies of this thread are trying to make, that was a driver used in its intended design with factors supporting its use and...
