    To me, Richard Davis is the greatest. In my opinion, no one else comes close to his talent with the bow. Overall, to me, his sound, time, ideas, and the soul that comes out in his playing--they are all just unsurpassed by anyone, ever.

    Double Bass Jimmy Blanton

    I heard from Richard Davis that he owned it and donated it to the University of Wisconsin, where he has been a tenured faculty member since 1978.
