I’m having a semi-hollow body bass built and I’m trying to get info on the best type bridge to purchase. It’s a full scale bass.

Hollow body bass pickups and hardware

I have a unique opportunity to have a new bass hand-built to my specs. Good friend is a luthier who builds guitars and wants to expand to basses. I’m a working bassist so would be advertisement for him. I need recommendations on components for a short-scale hollow body similar to one made by...

Advice on light rig with good mids and highs

New flat wounds (we play a lot of blues), recently set up, nothing funky going on. Low on head is turned down, mids and highs turned up. Gain is low to medium. On bass jazz ( two pups) both dialed in at about 3-4. I did try to adjust mid gig but couldn’t tell much of a diff. Hope this helps.

Advice on light rig with good mids and highs

I use mark bass cabinets. I have a 2x10 and a 4x10 cab. cab doesn’t get used much. I’m thinking an amp stand and an eq device would help. Both j bass and precision are 1990’s The Jazz seems to have better tone control. I’m liking the eq idea, just not sure which one to try.

LOL! So, what EQ pedal would you recommend? Never devolved in to the realm of ‘pedal world’.

Advice on light rig with good mids and highs

currently using a 500 watt mark bass head (not tube) and 2x10 cab. Guitar guys are telling me mids and highs aren’t loud enough. Playing through Fender American basses. Any suggestions? Would going with their tube head make a difference?
