oh man - that 2012 thread! yipes! yeah i've talked with Gael McKeon a little bit and though he is pretty slammed over the next few weeks i'm swinging the db by on the 26th and will chat with him for a bit then. guy seems really nice and knowledgeable, so i fel pretty good that nothing like that...

Sam: I'm just trying to mess around with it and have fun... maybe use it on some recordings etc. If it ends up being a cheap fix (or it looks like it should be a self-fix) and isn't worth much I might end up giving it to my bassist buddy who would have a blast with it. well haha it was free on craigslist :) the body does have lots of tiny vertical cracks in the wood... I assumed it was cracking varnish or something but maybe it is carved wood? I should take it to one of the shops nearby and see what they quote for fixing it up. When should I walk away from...
