    Putting my bass on steroids

    * I was right, weren't I. You've never held a soldering iron and know squat. Oh! And I didn't need to hold my breath for that ;)

    Putting my bass on steroids

Funny you say that, pigboy. To quote another George: "All pigs are equal, Except some are more equal than others." I'm sure even you can see the irony in that. No. I still say annoying, yappy little ankle biters. * look. I'm not going to educate those who have obviously never even held...

SGD pickups : David Schwab's issues with taking money and not delivering

Another winder in a looong list of winders who never deliver. I have seen this time & time again and the outcome is always the same. Those who have paid get fed lie after lie and hang onto the hope that he/she will deliver the goods, even when they know deep down inside that ain't gonna happen...

SansAmp Bass DI & Marshall MG 30DFX to Toneport UX1

You can't get a usable tone with PodFarm?! Wow. Fair enough. Each to their own… And to answer your question: yes. But which one you use(Marshall / SansAmp - DI or lineout) is entirely up to you. Experiment.

Bob Daisley: Original bass track to "I Don't Know" (1980)

Going by what I read in the interview with Bob on his site, the 30th Anniversary release was when there was talk of the original mix being re-released. But as of the time of the interview,it was just speculative talk. To be wiped from the slate and then squat and dump on the players,Randy's...

Gene Simmons: Isolated bass track to "Detroit Rock City" (1976)

Ooohh! That's just not Jaco/Geddy/George/JPJ…blah blah etc. etc. I'd rather listen to music I can sing or groove to,than polywrithmic lydiomatic fluff anyday of the week. You're forgetting the golden rules: 1. It's wotcha don't play, that makes all the difference. 2. * and no. It is...

Well ya see, that's where we,I guess, will always disagree. And bonus points for at least acknowledging that you have tried. The first thing I will always go to and change in most guitars I get,is open it up and drop in quality CTS log pots and upgrade the pubic hair thin wiring to a lower gauge...

    Cleaning an ebony fretboard...

 And,without fail, here we go again with the self serving dopes… Rubbish! But,if you like most detractors here, had read my post without jumping in ahead of your *ahem* brain, you would have seen I said it depended on the individual instrument and conditions.

    Cleaning an ebony fretboard...

Rosewood, depending on conditions(you'll be able to tell by sight anyway) will need oiling every 4-6 mnths. Ebony is naturally oily, self lubricating if you will. But will still benefit from a light oiling after being cleaned. I clean off built up grime with a toothbrush and warm soapy water...
