what is the winding length of most guitar strings from ball to taper?

Are the guitar chromes long enough to make it from the bridge to the nut on a 34 inch scale bass? I was thinking about doing this tenor tuning on a 6 string sx jazz copy. I need to replace the nut anyway.

I was having a lot of trouble finding wound stings for the high F/E. I'm not a big fan of plain strings on my bass. Is your .020 wound? I would prefer flat wounds, but couldn't find the gauges I was looking for. Perhaps I should keep looking.

The BX1500 is actually the amp I had in mind. I like the idea of a multiple 2x10 rig for its flexibility. One can stack two 2x10s for smaller gigs, or go with all 4 when you need the extra power. Also, it seems like this sort of set up would be a bit easier to transport in general.

I almost always rock both pickups at full volume to kill the hum, so I saw no need (at least for me) to have 2 volumes. this is why I like that master volume idea. The series/parallel switch would be just for additional tonal possibilities.

My plan is to keep the metal cover plate as is, and just use a bushing nut threaded to fit the 1/4" mini switch diameter to take up the extra room for the 3/8ths mounting hole. I hope this makes sense. That way there will be no need for drilling.

I was considering in doing a set of DIY cabs in the future. This link inspired me Link Removed I was interested in other peoples thoughts as to set that kind of system up.

How would one run 4 2x10 cabs together on one head? I am just curious. For some basic parameters consider the following: 4 or 8 ohms per 2x10 cab Head works with 2 ohms or higher per two speaker outputs Hope that makes sense. Thanks

I heard back from rondo music. They said the bass is out of stock for the year, so and exchange is not possible. They offered to have a new jack shipped, or send it back for repair or reimbursement. I've decided I'm going to keep the bass, and not ship it for repair. It's a jazz bass for those...
