I'm not a bassist, I'm a guitarist who looked after a mate's vintage Fender jazz fretless for a couple of years while he was working abroad, suffice to say, the Fender and I bonded. Then he came home and i had to give it back. In the meantime I had got roped into playing bass in a band so acquired an old Aria Pro ii from our lead guitarist for the princely sum of 80 quid, just to tide me over. It has a slim neck and a ridiculously low action, for which I can forgive it for its weedy pickups. That was 40 yrs ago and i still have the Aria and play it regularly, but use that as a back up in case the Fender bags out. I'm still not a bassist but I love playing bass. One day I'll get the hang of it.
