Stock 2000's model G&L L-2000 bass here. Serial number CLF47994. Translucent orange finish with hard rock maple neck and swamp ash body.
The bass is in exceptional working condition. It has been my "number one" for about two years. This past summer I brought it to local luthier Mark Umphred (Mark Umphred Guitar Repair) and spent about $300 on a complete setup including a lot of exacting fretwork to get it just so. I borderline harassed this poor guy and kept bringing it back to him till we had the instrument at a Billy Sheehan/Victor Wooten level of playability. As of right now, the neck is straight as an arrow and the action is riding *extremely* low with very little buzz. And the intonation is dead accurate. I'm very fussy!
We also did the mod described in this thread (G&L L-2000 preamp replacement) by desoldering the two green capacitors. This made the bass virtually noise-free! Unfortunately, the active electronics on these basses are notoriously noisy and I was about ready to replace the preamp before discovering this fix. I still have the original capacitors (see pics) as well as a brand new replacement pre-amp chip from G&L which I purchased while still troubleshooting the problem. They will be included with purchase for your safekeeping.
Cosmetically, the bass is very clean. There is a one crack in the finish near the tone/volume knobs (see pics.) It is hardly noticeable. All in all, I'd she looks pretty damn good for the amount of miles I've put on her.
The bass will come shipped with G&L softshell gig bag (see pics.) These gig bags are very tough and even have a velcro neck holder for added protection. I do have the original G&L hardshell case as well.

The natural character of the instrument is bright and punchy with a moderate "scoop". With the active electronics, you can get anything from a crazy deep dub sound to an extremely modern hi-fi sound. It's unlike any bass I have ever played. It doesn't replace a Fender P or J but it does both of those sounds passably in addition to having dozens of other unique and usable sounds. This is a great "jack of all trades" bass. And with the set up and active electronics, it's great for doing all your double-thumbing and tapping tricks if that's what you're into.
Oh, and is currently strung with new-ish DR Hibeam 45-100 strings.
Selling as part of my plan to move to NYC for bass. I am paring down my collection to two Fenders. As such....
