Here are my shorties. I bought the Duesenberg Starplayer today :hyper:.
The other one is a lowcost Hofner clone.

One really awesome thing about this short scale is that by putting the string anchors on the very edge of the body it can take regular 34" scale strings. Genius.

Crucianelli has also built shortscale basses that took regular 34 strings:

Are there still numbers being given out??

Here is my short scale bass. It was the first bass I ever owned. It sat for many years ( 15+) in it's case at my parents and I just recently picked it up and am refinishing it.

Here is the before picture

AND here it sits now, just waiting for the new volume and tone pots to arrive so I can re-wire it all. It is a fretless now, thanks to me pulling them off back when I was 18 or so.

Can't wait to see if it will still be a playable bass after the hard life it seen, lol.

My highschool had one of these basses in red sunburst that was almost unplayable but had a cool 1960s beat tone to it. The switches were vandalized and the pickups were scarily microphonic.

I have no clue what kind it is either. Once completed it will be a named bass. BUT you won't see fender or anything like that on it. I will see if I can get the graphic done the way I want. I never plan on selling this one so naming it won't be an issue.

The way squier, and i assume most manufacturers, paint guitars these days i sanded off the top clear coat then the colour coat and that left a thick layer of sealer which i left on to save to me having to protect the body again.

aside from that it's stock, apart from knobs. I really love the bass, especially for the price, it's comfortable, sounds great, light and just looks cool.

I tried to sand a Bronco body many years ago, and I was left with totally unfinishable Green Stuff. Couldn't even tell if it was Green Wood, or some kind of Plastic.

Finally made it through this entire thread, and am now requesting membership (hoping for #222!). I've been playing guitar for a number of years, but for the past 6 months or so have been feeling the urge for something different. Using my 30th birthday as an excuse, I've now got a Gretsch G2202 Junior Jet, which is perfect for my stubby little hands. Matched-up with an Acoustic B10, since we're about to have a kid and I don't want to immediately blast her ears out, nor spend much money.

Anyway, got it used from Musician's Friend for $150, the one in the picture I thought I was getting had a pretty big nick on it, but the bass I received is pretty much flawless, except for the volume pot that had to be rewired.

All in all, I like it. I must say, playing bass just feels "right". After reading this thread I think I'll definitely throw some new strings on, probably starting with Chromes. Now, do those come in different gauges, and if so does anyone know if they'll match the gauge of the stock strings, or if I'll have to readjust some things?

Also thanks to this thread, I've had to work-up some real willpower and concentrate on getting the hang of things with this bass before I succumb to some pretty bad GAS.

Anyway, here is a picture. Yup, same as all the others.

i'm not yet a member, but as i'm looking for one short scale bass... perhaps in a few days...

so, as i live in france, i cannot find any ibanez mikro ! but i'm not shure it's the one i'm looking for...
every body on forums say that it's a nice bass for the price, etc.
and it's almost every time the same for all basses !

but is there anyone here who can compare the mikro, the hagstrom hb4, the flea junior, the ibanez artb 100, the ib. agb200, the allen woody, the dean exo, the epi. elitist eb-3, the sx ursa2jr, the gretsch g2202, the italia torino, the eastwood series, etc...

and if u know some special one whitch is not too expensive (max 400€=530us$) and where i can buy it, i'll be very pleased to become a member as soon as possible ! lol
