Thanks for the responses, check two up - I was the original poster. Just wanted to update saying I had finally gotten them (two cabs instead of the 4x10 to make it a more modular rig). Hope the pictures help anyone considering a similar setup.

Ordered them from Mesa in Hollywood while I was on a cross country motorcycle trip, they were here when I got home. 2x10 and 1x15. Not nearly as loud as my 6x10, but I'm getting too old for loud, unarticulate, heavy cabs. Depending on the gig I split the rig up and just take the 15 occasioinally.

The tuner mutes output when engaged. If I used the send into it, and then used the return backt to the amp would that do it? Does my signal get diverted out to the send only when the return is hooked up? I'd just try it, but I don't have enough cables.

I just got my Mesa 400+ don't understand at all how to use the send/return jacks. I'm kind of a nut about not wanting anything in my signal path between the guitar and amp. I need to hook up my Sonic Research turbo tuner though. I understand I can just run a cable out of send to the tuner...

this is my approximation of what it'll look like. I'm thinking either a nice leather handle on top or two leather handles, one on each side.

I'm still waiting on my 400 to get here, but want to get a custom cabinet ordered for it. I've heard the depth on these amps was 12". Can someone confirm that? Also, is this measurement from the front of the handles or the face of the amp? I'm guessing the handles stick out an inch.

You're probably right. The SVT is a pretty expensive backup amp. The Mesa has trouble keeping up at larger clubs or venues with crummy sound/sound guys. But I wouldn't record with anything else.

Will the amp accept anything other than the 6550's? I've never been that stoked on my SVT. I can't coax anything out of it I like at low volume. That's why I use the Mesa head.
