Bought this pedal on a whim when I saw it for sale just a few streets away.
I thought I would use it to add drive to rockier songs since my band doesn’t have an electric guitar (just a resonator) but instantly I found that with the tone bypassed and the drive at 10-11 o’clock (depending on...
The Harley Benton Beatbass (Höfner copy) is great! Far superior tuners compared to a Höfner. Nicer neck. Naturally, you will have the same intonation problems but I wouldn´t bother. For me it was close enough from the factory, but to each their own I guess. Another option is a used Epiphone...
The obvious solution is of course an ABY box between the VTBass and the micro DI. This I have. I was mostly curious about the possibility to run an XLR signal in to an amp.
I'm afraid this won't work, as the DI I'm using is one of those Micro DIs (they come under different brand names, Fender, Mooer, Harley Benton etc) which has a similar design flaw as the VTBass DI - the cab sim affects both XLR and 1/4 inch output.
So I can inform you that it works fine to take the XLR signal to the amp. If anything the signal was quite low. I've only tried it at home though but i see no reason why it wouldn't translate to a live situation.
Nothing wrong with the built in cab sim, but it affects both XLR and 1/4 outs. I would like to have it off when I run it in to my amp and real cab.
And yes. I always run it in the fx return. To be honest it doesn’t sound awful with the cab sim through the cab either. I’d rather do it that way...
Hi! I'm thinking about connecting my VT Bass DI to a second DI with cab sim through the 1/4 jack and running the XLR out to the fx return on my Ampeg PF-350 (with an adapter of course). Running the 1/4 to the fx return works great but will the XLR signal be a problem? The signal level from the...
Okay, now that the MS 60B+ is revealed it seems like they have re-thought the cab bit. You can adjust the blend between no cab and full cab. Maybe that change will come to the B2 Four as well. I bought a VTBass DI to cover my DI:ed amp sound needs, so I think I'll just stick to my old MS 60B for...
That’s interesting to hear about the Ampero! Do you have one? The number of effects (at least for bass) seems limited at first glance. It has chorus, fuzz and octave but I wonder if they aren’t intended for guitar? Might still sound good though. And I guess I could keep the MS-60B for more...
Hi. I’m intrigued by the Zoom B2 Four. My only gripe (and I don’t think I’m alone on this one) is that cabs can’t be turned off or separated from the amp sims. I want to run the DI to FOH but I use a real bass amp with cab on stage.
I wonder what you experience is running the Zoom B2 Four with...
I ordered this bass from Thomann wanting two things: a five string bass and something that didn't sound like a p bass. It has delivered on both wishes. I haven't played five strings other than the occasional noodeling in stores but I must say this one feels really good. The strings spacing is a...
I have use a very limited amount of effects, most of the time it's just a compressor and the EBS valvedrive (obviously a tuner as well). I do however have a separate loop with an EBS octabass and a TC June 60 chorus for special occasions. I'm looking to swap the June 60 for a more versatile...
I don't know what a Micro SV stack is, but if it's like a micro VR with an XLR out, my first step would be to get a proper audio interface (do some googling, don't spend to much, the usual ones are fine) to record you amp - if you like the tone of it. As for DAW, Garageband will be fine. I can't...
Touching the strings didn’t affect it. My computer is an old MacBook Pro. I assume it’s grounded when the MagSafe is connected since the electricity outlets in the room are.
Yes and I think that’s really weird right? Makes me think it’s not coming from the bass or amp but rather from the headphone jack on the Behringer, or something like that. But then why not with the P5?
Well I don't know if this is good news or just more puzzling but when I plugged in to try some of your tips (remove lights etc) the noise was gone. Couldn't make it buzz/hum if I my life depended on it. Same amp, light, cables. I don't know how to handle this but I guess I should be glad?
One...
That's the signal path (or bass to Di driver to UMC202HD in that manner) but the noise isn't coming from the speaker, it's just in the monitors and headphones connected to the UMC202HD.
I have established that the problem is connected noisy surroundings. If I sit infront of a computer etc. it will buzz and not otherwise. But I can't for my life get the same buzzing without the XLR. That's what's puzzling me.
Do you mean at a gig, just plug the 1/4" to the PA mixer? Haven't thought about that but that might work. The benefit of the XLR is of course to be able to have both the amp and the PA (same with recordings) but I guess some sort of 1/4" splitter would allow something similar?
edit: Since my...
I have an issue with one of my basses (Fender Japan Heritage 60's P bass). It will make a considerable buzz noise when going through an XLR. It's drastically reduced by turning down the treble on the amp or the tone on the bass. I've tried different cables and the issue appears both when using...
