I currently play a Fender P51 reissue, not the worlds greatest bass (!) but the sound is warm and rounded and it's easy to EQ a punch out of it when needed. However it's a long scale 34" which means that a) it's bigger than me (I'm 5 foot 6 (170cm)), and b) I really have to stretch out to play...
