    A Good Cheap Bass for Slapping and plucking/picking?

    I really need to find a good cheap bass to play, that's good for slap. My Fender J standard is pretty okay, the pickups get in the way for some of the tricks i try, and the slap doesnt get picked up as well as it did on say a warwick thumb bass that i played at my school.

    14/15 y/o starting a band

    I'm 14, trying to make a band. Very Very Hard. I need some help.. i'm like the only person i know who has motivation for playing music... :(
