I own a 1970 P-Bass that appears to have just one original pickup (see pic).
From what I read, most people state to decipher the number stamp as week and year, - not sure how that would work on a 7170 numbering, as there is no 71st week in a year ...
I'm looking to replace the one pickup to...
Trying to date a bass I have been offered, starting with deciphering one of those odd 6 digit neckheel stamps. The neck is off a 1970 P-Bass (as per serial number plate), that has oddly enough two 137 6642 pots.
I find hints online how to decipher these, and as per those this may be a 5 (P-Bass)...
I own a 1983 Elite II that I encounter problems with to access and insert an allen wrench for adjustment into the truss rod nut. None of my regular size truss rod tools (i.e. Fender 3/16") will fit.
The nut looks like it shifted in the access hole and appears to be bigger than the access hole...
Anybody out there with knowledge on a late 70s early 80s Greco Pro GOB-1200 bass?
I have a battery drain issue on it and wanted to reach out if there is anybody with knowledge on such issue. I'm looking for schematics or pictures of the internal setup to troubleshoot the issue that has been...
I just acquired a 1977 Greco GOB-1200 bass and try to figure out the pot and switch assignment on this complex bass. I was unable to find anything out there on the net.
Can anyone who knows these basses share with me and the TB community what the different pots and switches are supposed to do...
Incredibly rare Duesenberg D-Bass particularly as a 5 string version, since the D-Bass is no longer being produced by Duesenberg in Germany. This one is used but super clean and comes with the correct Duesenberg hardshell case. Remarkable retro design, attention to detail and top notch quality...
Got this sea-foam green metallic P-Bass Special bass that I bought used with a set of strings on there which I love the sound and the feel off.
Unfortunately the E-String developed a defect, giving me a buzz, so I needed to replace it. Thought the strings were the original Fender strings, but...
I own a B20 bass by Washburn that recently suffered some damage during transit, whereas the bass shifted in the case and broke the G String tuner.
Now these are open gear tuners, kind of like Fenders with a clover shape key, but unlike on Fenders the base is not made of steel with 4 mounting...
i am contemplating on the purchase of a Washburn SB-40EQ bass, and have a question in regards to the electrics on board. The bass offered has two covers in the back, one for the pods and switches, one for what looks like a battery compartment. Opened the two lids, did not find a battery at all...
