Without going in to all the details, I'm wondering if a modular bass would be a good idea or not? Not necessarily to have the option of changing between different pickups, but more so that I can buy a really good pair of pickups and pre-amp and use it in 2 (or more) different bass bodies...

So I'll get down to business and jump right in with my first post here. Let's pretend for a moment that we are only allowed to own one bass. No ifs, not buts, you can only own a single bass. So what would your choice be and why?
