    3-String Retainer That Doesn't Cover Fender Decal?

    Got a new neck for my P-bass (jazz profile for a P-bass) and need to decide what retainer to go with. It would be great to have a retainer that includes the A string, but the one I happen to have would cover up the decal (see 2nd photo) - a deal breaker. Any suggestions, please?

    EB Cobalt Flats - Love the sound, Hate the feel

    They sound amazing, but the microscopic gap between the windings make them feel as if there is a sticky adhesive on the strings. Both rounds and LaBella flats slide much smoother than these. Did I get a bad set or is this how they all feel?

    Bass Hat?

    As a frequent hat-wearer I've decided that none of my current lids (mainly golf hats) are doing me any favors once I strap on the bass. Naturally, a hat is a highly personal thing, and music genre comes into play as well. Thoughts? Recommendations? Stories? I'm all ears.
