GK 2001RB II Smoke Smell (did I fry my head)

My bad it is the 1001RB II head, the other cab is correctly wired and have used it many times. It is an Ampeg cab factory wired @ 4 Ohms. The speaker was not replaced just repaired in the 410HLF so it is the same factory speaker from Ampeg in the cabinet. We took the speaker out and did not note...

GK 2001RB II Smoke Smell (did I fry my head)

I just repaired a speaker on my Ampeg 410hlf 4 ohm cab and believe my guitar player wired the speaker back in wrong. (He is usually very knowledgeable with speaker wiring) After I turned my amp on (GK 2001RB II) and played about a minute into a song I started to smell a smoke/burn smell. Turned...

    Ampeg Cabs Daisy Chained...How to..?

That is what I thought...:-( I was considering using my GK 1001RB II also and run the 700RB II for mid/low to the 610HLF and the 1001RB II for the highs on the 810E in essence running 2 amps. Just need to figure how to get the bass signal to both amps.

Several have said...

    Should I repaint a vintage Guild B302...?

Wow...some great comments, thank you. I mainly bought this because it was the same model I had for my first bass (white) I bought in 79'. It was stolen along with my 1982 G&L 1000 and I never replaced it. The thief stole it when I had it appart and all of the hardware removed (I still have all...

    Should I repaint a vintage Guild B302...?

I just bought a 1977 Guild B302 that has quite a bit of road wear, scratches, dents, worn finish on body, neck and horn. It is the brown stained colored finish and it plays and sounds great. I am considering having it refinished or painted and I know some say leave it alone and that this is a...

New T-Bird Pro, active pick ups noise..???

I just got the Epiphone Thunderbird Pro and love the look and feel. Workmanship is right there with the Gibby but the active pick ups put out a bunch of noise if not touching the strings. I went ahead and shielded the cavities with copper sheilding tape and still the same. I am playing through a...
