    A Good Cheap Bass for Slapping and plucking/picking?

    I really need to find a good cheap bass to play, that's good for slap. My Fender J standard is pretty okay, the pickups get in the way for some of the tricks i try, and the slap doesnt get picked up as well as it did on say a warwick thumb bass that i played at my school.

    Emma Anzai.

    One of my favorite Bassists, I know she uses a warwick stage 1 but does anyone know what kind of strings she uses? Because i play a lot of SP Covers, and i want it to sound right.
