Here's my latest beast. It's a custom 6-string Manson E-Bass. Swamp Ash wings with splayed quilted maple top, ebony fretboard, 5-ply maple, ebony & flame maple neck fitted with Nordstrand fat singles (if you've never used these they are well worth it!). Plays like a dream sounds even better!

Of course anyone can get used to anything, but specs make a big difference to the feel of an instrument. Neck profile & finish is going to have more influence than anything else but all these factors add up to whether you feel more comfortable with one bass than another.
