Hey I just picked up a new set of D'Addario EXL160 Nickel Wound strings, and noticed that all the strings on my current Spector Euro 5 (2003/4) and it turns out the .135 string can't fit in the bridge. I see there's an option for a tapered .135, and I think the rest will fit, but does it matter...

Agreed on this. I have a $100 Ampeg and an older $600amp+cab rig and the difference between the two is immense. I love the practice amp for portability, but man it just doesn't do my B (Well, G# for me) justice.

I wouldn't worry about the earliness you're buying it. I've been playing for 4 years now and have only ever used 5 string basses. Couldn't imagine playing on a 4 string now to be honest, but that's just a personal preference. If you're into anything downtuned, chances are you'll be needing a 5...

Yeah, was looking at that one. Problem is it's only 2 pics and I'm not sure if it's a '99-2000 era NS5CR, so I'm not sure of the scale length, which I kind of need to be 35".

Man, it's like everything Spector makes is a work of Art. So these are precursor to the Euro series I'm assuming? Any major differences (plusses/minuses)?

I actually was checking that earlier. Really good pricing, I'm deciding if I like the color or not really. Normally I wouldn't be so picky but this'll probably be my bass for the next 5+ yrs so lots of thinking for me :P. I may hit you up later though, it'll be hard to find a deal that good.
