I'd also like to nominate John Archer, bassplayer for Hunters & Collectors. He not only kept a solid bottom end with Doug Falconer's excellent drumming but he also designed and built the bands PA system since their formation in the early eighties.
Peter Gifford from Midnight Oil, what a machine! Also, the bass line in this song (Stand In Line) was written by the original bassplayer, Andrew James, who was also an incredible musician.
(Bonus Peter Garrett dance moves)

That could certainly work! I should have mentioned in the opening post that they are now 'ex pickups' due to my haste in attempting a solution. The upside is that I'm learning to solder properly and am getting a good idea of how electronics work :)
I have contacted Fender and it's been passed on to their technical support (via email). The rep said it should fit. I must confess that I went ahead and desoldered the pickups from the plate to turn it around and resolder, unfortunately my skills weren't up to the job and I wrecked the...
It's a bit hard to see, but the brass plate underneath has the ground wire soldered to it. I must confess I did desolder it and turn it around however my skills weren't up to the job, my bad. I'm just curious as to how else they are to fit.
Hi everyone,
I recently bought some replacement pickups for my lefty P-bass (player series). They are the genuine Fender '63 series. The only problem is that they don't fit the cavity for the pickups as the shape is around the wrong way. This is because they are soldered to a brass plate that...
