I never knew what I was missing until I stacked a couple 15's under a d800+. The little kid with his first real bicycle feeling. Man it's great. Crank that thing up and figure out how far away the neighbors really are lol.

Most heartfelt condolences. Mine went over a decade ago. I have his Chiquita and acoustic guitars. They'll never leave the family I hope.

I started down this Mesa road with a d800+. Ran it through a gk neo 212 4 ohm cab and liked it. Then I found a subway 115 and ohhhh! There it is! I recently found another one on here, and a 210. The guy was super cool and let me try them out together and separately. I bought the 115. I play in...

I think we watched Reagan get shot on the same TV in the same class that year if I remember correctly. Pretty raw stuff for a first grader.

Choosing a head for GK NEOIV 212 8 Ohm Cab - advice

When I bought my d800+, I chose the neo 212 in a 4 ohm. This was mainly due to availability. I absolutely love the sounds I get out of it, and the Mesa head will also do a very low volume if you like. I'm certain you're going to find this rig is far more than adequate for any situation from...

He was helping his friend sell. Got a number, made arrangements and stopped by. The guy with the cabs set them up and had a bass plugged in when I got there to try them out. Plugged them in together and separately so i could pick which one i wanted. Talked music for awhile. Super cool cat, and...

So, it's been a very long time. Maybe 30 years have gone by since I've been in a well stocked guitar store. I just spent an hour in an amazing place. The Bass Shop in Seattle. Wow! Jeff is the man. This place has inventory. They recently became a Mesa dealer, and I'm super stoked! Finally I...

I'm certain that the wisdom of @agedhorse far surpasses my ergonomic wishes when it comes to cabinet design And the ashdown stack is on the block now that I found what I consider to be the voice of heaven.

I have an Ashdown 210 with the inset handle on top. So nice to move around, and especially stacking in tight quarters. I think all light cabs should have this feature.

The 115 carries pretty well by one handle, even being a cube. Pretty sure it should have had a comfy inset handle on top instead. I'm not complaining though. The sound it produces offsets any slight ergonomic issues by a long shot.

Five Star Guitars has a 115. I think they're in Portland. I was going to buy it but then found a great used one. Might be an opportunity to go plug your d800+ in and take it for a ride. It's a pretty sweet sounding setup.

    A new Schecter bass?

After a long hiatus from owning a bass, I ordered a Schecter Stealth 5 from sweetwater. It is super comfortable to hold and play, sitting or standing. It sounds good. The fretboard is really well done. It stays in tune remarkably well. I consider it a really great value and have never for a...

    Question about Ashdown ABM-210 cabinet

I have the pro neo from sweetwater, and it says 400 watts on the back. Can't say about the other one, but it definitely looks different.

Bass has to be felt to be properly heard in my opinion. Agreed. I don't think you're properly hearing it if you can't feel it to some degree. Even at a low volume in my basement I can feel it.

He has the whole rig advertised on here. The box made it really tempting, but that's so far away. I did just get a shiny new D800+ in the mail today though! Holy cow what an amp!

Okay, this poor cabinet needs a home. How far are you willing to drive and meet? I'm all the way north here in Washington.

First 5 string search (Squier, Ibanez, Yamaha, Sterling…)

Schecter makes some good quality basses for a really great price point. My Stealth 5 came with an impeccable fretboard, sounds good and has a 35" scale. The string spacing is a tiny bit narrow compared to my Sire, which had the most horrible frets I've ever seen on any bass and had to be taken...

GK Legacy 800 vs. Mesa Boogie D800+ Series

Just ordered a legacy 800. I've got a d800+ on order as well with a mesa 115. Those won't be here as soon. I'm hoping to love the legacy, cancel the mesa head and keep the 115 cab coming. Glad to run across this thread and see I wasn't the only one that has had this dilemma. How did that 212...

Advice on buying ideal setup for individual practice

I've been quite pleased with my TH350 for the last year. Price was an issue for me then, and I bought an Ashdown ABM blue line 2x10 cab to run it through. 60 lb. box, but it lives in my basement and sounds glorious. The di is great through my interface into the laptop too. I don't gig. I play...
