    Amp for bedroom tapping

Slightly out of the price range but there's a used PH Double 4 in the classifieds..... https://www.talkbass.com/classifieds/phil-jones-double-four.1665830/ Less than 9 lbs, sounds great. I think tthis is the ultimate sound-per-size amp out there.

    How good are SX basses

Kinda the same.. Swapped original neck with replacement SX neck, swapped pups for a set of Fender Super 55's and a Starr prewired with series/parallel switch. Bass is a beast now.

    Mesa 1x15 Quality Issue

This can't be taken seriously enough. Imagine if the staple had been cast out at a certain combination of fundamental and overtones and said staple had hit the edge of a port and ricocheted into someone's eye causing blindness followed by deep depression leading to someome ending it all and...

    Help with choosing a head

Misconception here. All other things being equal, a short scale should have more fundemental/less overtones than a long scale bass.

    that first ding

A ball rolled behind my bass once and my son's dog decided to scratch his way thru the bass to get it. The result? After that, small dents or dings tend to bother one less.

    Sire Bass Club!

The one time they got me, I ordered an electric putting machine for the kids and they sent me a fake golfball. Luckely I used PayPal so that got reversed but they did argue they sent me "something" and wanted it back if I cancelled.

    Sire Bass Club!

I've seen deal sites before with almost that exact same "look", always has turned out to be fake. One trick they do is that they take the order and mail you something of little to no value. I assume this helps take them out of the full scam area and into the "product not as described" area.

    Sire Bass Club!

May be a dump question, but have you checked the pickup hieght between the two? I agree that the Sire pup's aren't particularly "hot" on their own, but that might just be so they can play nicer with the active stuff.
  31. lug

    NBD... sort of. (Ruokangas content)

Beautiful bass! The setup of the pickup gave me an idea. What if the pup could be rotated a bit either way. I think that would be cool.

    Sire Bass Club!

On my V6 if everything is centered, active and passive are very close to the same volume....touch the bass boost and.....whoa! :D I actually wish it didn't have as much boost since I can't imagine using more than q 1/4 turn.

As mentioned above the rate of temp change is far more important than the temp itself.
