buzzing 'a' string

For a while my A string has been buzzing even if I don’t press any frets down. It mainly happens when I pluck it really hard and I’m not sure what’s causing it. I’ve gotten my nut replaced and action readjusted for a separate problem and I’m wondering if it has something to do with the bridge...

Good afternoon all! Lately, when I play the A string open on my Fender Cabronita Precision, it buzzes like crazy! If I depress the string past the nut (just at the start of the headstock) the buzz disappears. Is this a problem with a cheap, quick fix...or do I perhaps need a new nut on this...
