    When is it ok to clip a long bass string

    It was recommended to me that I get GHS Pressurewound Bronze strings for my acoustic bass guitar, and I'm looking into it. I have a short scale ABG, and it looks like the Pressurewound Bronze strings only come in one length. The package says "37.25 Wind". Is that the string length? In any case...
