head + cab as a practice amp

Hello, This is my first post although I've been reading a lot of useful stuff here. I'm thinking about upgrading my Kustom KXB10 practice amp. Does it make sense to buy a head + cab that would be suitable for metal rehearsals with overactive drummer like Tonehammer 500 W Markbass Little AG...
