    Phil Lesh's tone -- preferred era?

    For you Deadhead bassists and Phil fans, just curious if there is a preferred era you prefer regarding Phil's tone. If so, when and why? He's always sounded great... but for the aficionados out there, merely wondering if there was a certain time when Phil was using a certain mix of ingredients...
