phase cancelation

Hi guys, I love Fender 63 Split coil sound with my Precision. But sometimes I feel like some Jazz Bass is great, in this case my Jazz Bass Delano bridge soapbar is my choice. -Would I have any phase problem if I create a PJ with both of them? -Which is your mix for your PJ if you have any? THANKS!

Correct me if I'm wrong but from what I understand, when two pickups are in parallel and in the middle notch at 50/50, there is comb filtering which results in a mid-scooped effect. Sounds amazing when playing solo but doesn't really cut through in a mix. Somewhere along the line, I remember...
