    How to pop on the bass?

    hello guys, I’m starting to learn slap bass, and I can get a good slap sound, but anytime I try to pop the strings I get ringing sound and it doesn’t sound right. Anytime I pop hard it makes a ringing noise, and whenever I pop softly it sounds like a regular note. Thank you
