relearning

Story goes that when I first took an interest in playing stringed instruments over a decade ago (I was an amateur pianist back then), I naturally picked up my dad's right-handed acoustic guitar the left-handed way without realising it, and only noticed I was holding the guitar the 'wrong' way...

Just got the motivation back to learn more bass after mainly playing guitar the last six years. I really want to learn how to play around a song and not just do root notes. I've learnt a bit about it on guitar, but it feels very different on bass. Any tips or guides I need to check out?
