repair tuner

I have a newish Ibanez SR300EL in iron pewter. The bass is used and other than the tuner, in beautiful condition. I've noticed, that on the treble side, the tuner for the D string works to a point, then it gets very, very loose. It turns like it's broken, but it continues to wrap the string...
