rough

I think I have come to the conclusion that I prefer the sound of stainless steel strings, but prefer the feel of nickel. I find SS is rough on the fingers and wonder if any of you feel the same or have found something that combines the two?

In the 70's when I used only stainless steel round wound strings I had rock hard calluses on my two plucking fingers, which I really liked because it gave me a more percussive tone, almost like playing with a pick. I no longer have those calluses, probably because I play only strings with...
