yamaha bb 3000 s a bass 1983

Hello, I have a question: what is the difference between a BB 3000 and a BB 3000 S? I have noticed the S has one more knob, instead of the pick-up selector, so I guess it has two volume knobs, one for each pick up and the general tone knob. Oher than that? Any sound or material, feeling or shape...
