I have a Herman Lowendall bass made in Berlin in the 1880's. I bought this bass back in 1999 while studying Jazz in college and have barely played it for quite some time. It was setup by Bob Riccardi back when I bought it. It has some wear on it but is in very good condition except for a little separation at the bottom (see pics) which I'm told is very normal for a bass that hasn't been played much recently.
It has a 42" scale and is currently strung with Thomastic Spirocore strings. This bass is a great playing instrument and has an unbelievable sound. I am looking for $9,000 but would listen to reasonable offers. I am not looking for another upright at the time so I'm looking for a straight sale as opposed to a trade. The bass is in South Jersey right between Philly and NYC and would really prefer to not have to deal with shipping this lovely instrument!
