This is my beautiful 1972 Starfire Bass. I love it but it has to go because life is life-ing right now.
Comes with Labella Flats on it. Case, original guild towel, photo of original owner with the bass on a record, vintage strap also seen in the photo included as well.
This bass plays beautifully. Neck pickup sounds huge, as does the bridge. Together they sound out of phase. I've read that this happened everynow and then at the Guild factory. Not sure if this was on purpose or not. This has never bothered my because I only use the neck pickup as do most with these basses. Electronics controls are a little scratchy as well, nothing some deoxit couldn't solve I'm sure.
At one point there was a repair on the back of the bass to help the bridge or something. You'll see two small holes in the photo. This repair was taken out and the bass was correctly repaired to it's original form.
This is all I know about this bass, it really is a beautiful bass. I'm going to miss it.
