Well, I've been holding off on putting this up for awhile since I'll inevitably be barraged by questions. Juan Alderete almost pulled the trigger on this one when I had it on craigslist but he was turned off by it's main feature, someone carved a meteor-like figure out of the wood with "JD" in initials. Aside from that the neck has tons of finish missing but plays easily.

Here's the composition:
73 Neck
73-74 Body, thumb rest and not pull bar
73 plate
tuners and string tree from a '71 Precision
Dunlop Straplocks
Old/Mod'd bridge
Modern USA P pickup
Modern USA P pickguard
Newer pots and knobs
New frets with level and setup within the past year
New nut, also wood is missing from behind the nut, I've had this for 3 years or so I think, no problems with that.
Body de-finished, the wood is quite nice looking

I've used this bass on tons of gigs and never had an issue, everything adjusts fine and the action is easily playable, it could go lower but you'd have to take off the BAII. All the frets play with no buzz, tried to capture that in the vid.

I'll include a nicely padded gigbag to make sure it arrives safely.

$850 w/o BAII
NO TRADES

I shot a couple vids first, I'll put up some pics later. This is going through a GK MB Fusion and an Epifani UL-212 Series One.

I do dig this bass... but if I got it I'd NEED to take a belt sander... or dremel... or something to get rid of that carving... too much work for me as I am not carpenter.

G'luck with the sale!!!

Too bad about the carving. What gets into people's heads to make them deface a nice instrument like that?

Reminds me of what kids used to do to school desks when they were bored, back in the day.

Hey John, was just thinking about you yesterday man, hadn't gotten back to you from that email a month ago. Killer playing on the track and wish I could hear the bass on the video but it looked like a hell of a show.

Very cool man! Thought of you too the other day after listening to some seven mary three. "The Pollocks" connection. Thanks for checking it all out! Hit me up sometime. Would love to catch up.

Bump for a great guy with very cool basses! If I had the money i would prob be on this.

I think I've seen this bass pass thru Atomic Music before about 9 years ago.
Did it have dayglo paint on it in patches when you got it?
I personally love player basses function before fashion.

Has the weird modified vintage bridge on it now and lower action too, need to take a pic...it's one of those 60's saddles bridges but has allen adjusters (close to stripped so might as well get some old flatheads)

Probably not, it came from the West Coast. The previous owner didn't realize it had a carving at all until he stripped multiple layers of paint off of it(!)
