Up for grabs is this beautiful 1974 Fender Jazz bass.....and before you ask, my scale says 10lbs! (feels pretty great for an ash body 70s jazz!)
The bass is a player for sure and does have checking and all the other things you would expect with an almost 50 year old bass.
The finish is original, hardware seems to be stock (sorry no covers or thumb rest), pickguard is non original Fender 74' replacement guard, Pickups are non original FCS 60s jazz pups (it works!) nut is non original (binding intact!)
At sometime during its life it appears someone used the wrong size pickup screws and went through the back of the bass. The holes are very minor and really you don't tend to look at the back of the bass all that much. I have circled the spots for you to see.
This is a 4 bolt jazz, neck is nice and sturdy and does not move around at all. Truss rod works great for the little I have needed to tweak it.
Frets are quite low, but for my playing I have no dead spots or issues with it. Low frets for 70s seems to be the norm.
Headstock shows some aging/darkening but otherwise is in great shape.
