MOJO!!!

This bass sounds sweet. It just has a nice resonance to it, you notice it even before the bass is plugged in. The pickup is a real gem as well. I've been the owner for over 25 years. Great recording axe. On the heavy side. Neck is on the thick side, although manageable. Frets still have plenty life left in them, no major buzzes. The relief in the neck is perfect imo: slightly more curve on the E side. The truss rod works, but almost never needs adjustment. Maybe a quarter turn every couple years at most. All original, except for some of the pick guard screws, etc. Original pick-up cover and bridge cover included. Weight: ~9.1 lbs according to bathroom scale.

Currently has Hipshot D-Tuner, comes with original tuner as well.

As you can see, unfortunately the finish has quite a few nicks around the edges. Finish still looks good over all imo, nice vintage vibe.

Nut Width:

1 5/8" (41mm)

String Spacing at Nut:

13/32" (11mm)

String Spacing at Bridge:

25/32" (20mm)

I'm not interested in trades.

Shipping: If you want the bass shipped I will throw in an old SKB case. No handling fee. You pick shipping carrier (UPS, FedEx, USPS) and any insurance. I can get a quote from carrier first. You pay shipping. Once I receive PayPal payment for bass + shipping, I will send it out.

Sound files available on request! Did I mention that this bass sounds AMAZING on recordings? :headphone:

Nice P!

Some special basses were coming out of Fender during the time.
I have a '75 that also sounds like it has a life of it's own.
GLWS.

OK, here are the additional pics of the pick guard serial number, etc. I have done a bit of research, there were some useful posts on forums.fender.com .
The serial number on the pick guard matches the year of the neck, 1977. It is not the exact same number, but from what I can tell this is normal for the mid-late 70s CBS Precisions. The distinct neck route, and holes drilled for the pick guard and thumb rest, also match 1977.

i play a '77 bass that is exactly like this one, i know exactly what is meant by "this bass is very resonant, noticeable even before you plug it in."
mine is the same way. my amp tech played my bass and after about 30 seconds stopped and looked at me, just said "don't ever sell this bass..."

just putting it out there guys. this is probably a badass bass.

This is one of those moments when I wish monthly payments were an option because this is exactly the bass I want right now. Beautiful instrument bump. GLWTS!
